The transition from the spring season to the summer season always takes place in June. This date is however not fixed because it depends on the summer solstice which takes place according to the years on June 20th, 21st or 22nd.
This year the summer will start on Thursday June 20, 2024 (day of the summer solstice) and will end on Sunday September 22, 2024 with the autumnal equinox.

Be careful the date of the beginning of summer is not fixed and can vary from one year to another. Although we often associate it with June 21st it sometimes falls on June 20th and more rarely on June 22nd.

If the astronomical or calendrical seasons begin with the equinoxes (spring and autumn) and solstices (summer and winter), in meteorology, they begin earlier and correspond to periods of three full months.
In the northern hemisphere the dates of the meteorological summer extend from June 1 to August 31 (June, July and August).
For the year 2024 the meteorological summer will begin on Saturday, June 1, 2024 and will end on Saturday, August 31, 2024.
